“Yakumon Ramen is an unassuming Japanese ramen sanctuary on Taman Sentosa.
Yakumon Ramen was voted the third best ramen in Tokyo but in JB, it’s referred to the place near Hai Kah Lang.
Don’t be fooled by the simple clear soup and wantons.
The taste grows on you.
It’s the kind of clean tasting, simple soup that warms the cockles of your heart.
The tsukemen comes with clear broth rather than the thick gravy like dipping sauce is a nice change of pace.
Again, it’s clean tasting.
The grilled Okinawa salt cured pork is a nice little melt-in-your mouth side dish.”
“I cheated — and got a simple bowl of garuopa fish with koay teow in clear soup with wine.
I am told that ordering via Grab is better than joining the huge queue at its flagship store.
And there’s a good reason for the queue.
The soup is addictive good, the noodles silky, and the chilli (belacan) is a great compliment to add another layer of limey spicy kick.
Maybe I shouldn’t have written this review after the meal.

But they serve pretty good quesadillas for a bakery cafe and an interesting expresso bomb (think soju bomb) too.
The shakshuka is nothing to shout about.
You’re better off making your own at home, haha — add chorizos and a good dash of harissa.”

The nasi (rice) is fragrant and tastes awesome whether you have it in JB, KL, or Penang.
The beef rendang is melt in your mouth (for real) and packs a punch.
The fried chicken somehow manages to have both crispy skin and a tender meat.”
