“This is the best doughnut bakery in Kyoto. Be prepared to queue ~1 hr even if you arrive BEFORE OPENING time! I recommend coming min 30mins - 45 mins before they open in the morning, because if u look at the pics they are sold out super fast and u need to wait for new batches baked fresh on site.
These are not like your typical Mister Donut kinds (If you like very heavy and sweet kinda donuts this is not for you). They are less sweet and less heavy than typical donuts but the key thing that makes them so famous is that they have an extraordinary fuwa fuwa fluffy texture. Also their flavors are different than the commercial donut flavors (e.g. strawberry, chocolate,etc.) and lean towards more traditional flavors like sesame, etc.
Sometimes they close temporarily (because this is the ONLY SHOP they run and its a mom and pop family run shop), so for the latest updates in case of temporary closures look at their facebook page (find ひつじドーナツ on facebook)”
