We use the information we collect to provide, personalize, measure, and improve the service; to build the boards, rankings, and filters that are its core (your declared home palate is used to segment recommendations); to develop new features, products, and services; to communicate with you; to keep the service safe and secure and to enforce our terms; to conduct research and analytics; and to promote Palabud. We may combine information from across the service and from other sources.
We may also create aggregated, anonymized, or derived data from your information and use, share, and commercialize it for any purpose, including insight products, marketing, and business partnerships. Aggregated and anonymized data never identifies you personally.
We share information with service providers who help us run the service (hosting, database, storage, analytics, email delivery); with our affiliates and successors; with partners in aggregated or anonymized form; when required by law, or to protect rights, safety, and the integrity of the service; and in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, where your information may be transferred as part of the business. We do not sell your personal information to advertisers.
We use essential cookies for login sessions and analytics tools to understand product usage. You can control cookies in your browser.
We keep your data while your account is active, and for as long as needed for the purposes described here, to comply with legal obligations, to resolve disputes, and to enforce our agreements. If you delete your account, everything you contributed is permanently erased: your personal data (email, name, username, home palate), your recs, your tips, your photos, your likes and your follows. They are removed from every leaderboard at once. The only thing that remains is the food place records you added (the name and address of a restaurant or stall), which stay on the service with no link to you, so that other people's recommendations of those places are not destroyed along with your account. Content you remove yourself, and accounts you delete, may remain in our backups and safety archives for up to 30 days before they are permanently erased. Aggregated, anonymized, or derived data may be kept indefinitely. Analytics records are pseudonymous: they carry an internal identifier, never your name or email, and cannot be linked back to you once your account is deleted.
Palabud serves a global audience and your data may be processed outside your country, with appropriate safeguards.
You can view and correct your profile information in the app anytime, and delete your account in Settings, which permanently erases your personal data and all of your contributions. These built-in tools are how data rights on Palabud, including rights under laws such as Singapore's PDPA and the EU's GDPR, are exercised.
We may update this policy and will signpost material changes in the app.
